The Current Transformer eA10A is an explosion proof supporting type CT, designed for a maximum equipment voltage level of Um 11 kV and a rated primary current up to Ipr= 1500 A. The design allows a continuous overload up to 120 % Ipn.
The current transformers are fully encapsulated in brown cycloaliphatic epoxy resin. The active part consists of an iron core with homogeneously placed secondary winding with terminals S1/S2, the primary winding with high-voltage flat terminals P1/P2. Optionally, a Rogowski
coil to control a relay is available (terminals “X1/X2”). The secondary terminals “S1/S2”, “X1/X2”) as well as the grounding terminal are torsionally protected bolted
to the insulating plate at the front side of the bottom plate. The primary flat terminals are provide with two holes for M12 screws for connection with bus bar or cable.

Installation must be made in compliance with EN 60079-0:2012+A11:2013 and EN 600079-7:2007! The permissible creepage and air distances for material group I (CTI-Value > 600) must be strictly adhered.
The grounding must be done by using the grounding screw M 8 located at the backside of the CT. The minimum cross section of the grounding connection according to EN 60079-0:2012+A11:2013 must by adhered. The secondary winding has to be grounded on one side in the terminal box by the provided connection lug.
